The Greatest Enemy Of Dreams

By Evan Sanders

"The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt." Sylvia Plath

When we begin to question ourselves, our whole world begins falling apart. That's a pretty bold statement, but if we truly dive into the after-effects of what takes place when doubt crawls into our lives, it truly does happen. We can even take it a step further in regards to chasing dreams. Since the playing field is even more competitive, and doubt comes into our minds, that's when it actually does ruin everything or seems to put a total stop to everything we've ever wanted in this life.

You see, dreams demand everything from you. They demand your total attention, working ethos, keenness, integrity, and desire to sacrifice a significant deal to reach them. But when you start doubting your dream and what you're actually doing in life, you aren't giving it your all.

When you listen to someone talking of a dream, there's this sense you get from them that they know something is going to really happen in spite of massive amounts of uncertainty surrounding all of it. There's an innate sense of belief that roots itself so deeply in that person that they can't possibly be defeated. That's true and real faith.

But when you listen to someone who is talking about their passions, and you get the sense that they may be slightly on edge about it all, you can be pretty sure that they will never achieve what they set out to do. It's not you are rooting against them, but it's that you know dreams take everything and giving it less than that, well, it just won't work out in any way. So pour yourself into what you adore and let doubt flee from your mind. Others may say it's not possible, but the unthinkable has been achieved many many times through history.

Give it a try. Anything could happen.
