A Highlight On How To Keep Mice Out Of RV

By Ruth Wood

Places where human beings live in are known to attract other living creatures most notably rodents. This is mainly because of the availability of warmth and constant supply of food among other necessities. However, these creatures are known to cause a lot of discomfort or may even lead to outbreaks of diseases related to them. Below is a guide on how to keep mice out of RV.

In most cases, the mice will be attracted by the presence of food. This will include the foodstuff stored in the storage cabinets as well as the leftovers. To ensure that this does not bring them in the trailer, the owners should ensure that they dispose all leftovers and waste as well. This can be achieved by use of dustbins that have covers. Getting rid of food stuff is among the best measure to put in.

Cleaning is another effective measure. This mostly targets areas where food spills may be common. They include the kitchen area, the storage facilities as well as the dirt disposal areas. The cleaning should be constantly carried out to avoid buildup of the waste which the rodents may be feeding on. Doing so starves them to death or forces them to look for other places where they can get food from.

Openings in most cases serve as the entry points of mice in RVs. These openings may result from broken pipes, electric gadgets as well ventilators. The owners should therefore replace the broken parts immediately to avoid the existence of an opening. Another way to eliminate them is sealing them completely with the appropriate materials.

Mobile trailers are known to move from one place to another. They therefore end up being parked in many different locations. As a prevent measure, the owners should avoid dirty and bushy areas. This is because such areas are likely to be the dwelling places of rats. It is also advisable to first clean, the location before parking.

Another way of fighting this menace is the use of traps. These traps are placed in areas that the mice are likely to be hiding. Cautions should however be taken to avoid cases of the accidents taking place when the inhibitors end up stepping on them unknowingly. Traps are therefore not a good option, especially when there are kids around.

Rodent poison has been among the oldest method to fight them. The poison is placed on the foods that the rats feed on. It is made in a way that it attracts them. This should be an option where the mice infestation seems to be beyond control. Constant cleaning, however, has to be carried to eradicate the already dead ones.

Month balls are also an option in this case. They are small pellets with a pungent smell that drives away the mice. They can be placed on clothes to prevent them from hiding in closets. The pungent smells comes from the pesticide they are made of. These balls, however, should be constantly replaced with time for effective results.
